Jason and Medea
Reviews
Jason and the Argonauts travel to Colchis to bargain for the Golden Fleece. Medea, daughter of the king, immediately falls in love with Jason and mixes a magic potion for him to use when facing the test the king gives him to win the fleece. She lulls to sleep her childhood friend, the serpent, so that she can steal the fleece and escape with Jason. With her treasonous act, Medea brings down the wrath of her father and countrymen, and this is just the beginning of their troubles. On thier return to Iolcus, Jason's home, they narrowly escape many scary situations. Complementing each other, Medea uses her magic and Jason his strength and courage. Medea leads the boat safely through the clashing rocks, sings the Harpies to sleep so the Argonauts can behead them, rescues the seamen from the evil Circe, and mesmerizes the Bronze Man so Jason can slash his vulnerable heel. With both a strong hero and heroine, boys and girls alike can enjoy this classic tale of love and loyalty, danger and adventure, magic and bravery.
